Oh, story time! 💕 Yoshi was an oops creation. When I was young, my family bred corgis. Our stud dog accidentally bred my sister's heeler and created what the world now calls a “cowboy corgi.” Back then, it was not a desirable cross and we had to practically give the puppies away. But I kept one, intrigued by the cross, wondering what this li'l abomination would look like. He turned out to be the most loyal farm dog, in the shotgun seat of the side by side before me for chores, helping move horses around, curled up in a corner of the arena waiting for me to finish riding at 11 p.m. He helped me through so many stages of life; college, quitting college, not knowing what to do in life, going back to college, dragging him with me into the unknown of international veterinary school during COVID, and stepping into my career as a veterinarian. He was such a troublemaker who luckily had nine lives like a cat with the mischief he got into. He used to love sleeping anywhere (upside down on his back) as long as it was by me. Looking out the house window and seeing him chase butterflies in grass taller than he was, bouncing up and down, will be a forever memory on my heart.
