After a beloved pet's death, transportation is another thing to consider. You may bring your pet to us if you wish, but this may be difficult if you have a larger dog, for owners with limited transportation, older owners, or those with limited physical abilities. At a time of emotional overload, it's nice to know the River Valley Pet Cremation Society has other reliable options.

We offer transportation from veterinarian's office within 20 miles of Hastings at no charge.
We can pick up your beloved pet from your location for the following rates:

$75 fee within 10 miles of our location in Hastings, Minnesota.
$95 fee within 11-20 miles of our location
$115 fee within 21-30 miles of our location
Beyond the 30 mile radius will be charged additional $4/mile.

When you submit your Cremation Authorization form , please indicate on the comment line whether you will need transportation or plan to bring your pet to us. We will contact you for more details and timing.

During this extremely stressful and sad process, we will do our best to ease your burden and offer compassionate care for you, your family, and your pet.

The University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center (VMC) offers a bereavement group to support those grieving the loss of a beloved companion animal. CALLM will provide you with a supportive and confidential environment in which to share your story. By participating, you will learn about what to expect from grief, strategies to cope with grief, signs of prolonged grief, and ways to memorialize and honor your deceased companion animal. CALLM sessions are facilitated by licensed social work staff and master’s level interns of VMC Social Work Services with the Veterinary Medical Center at the University of Minnesota.

Location: University of Minnesota’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Specific room location and meeting dates/times will be provided to confirmed participants.
